For this review I wanted to give you some fantastic Adidas boxing shoes options to consider. My first boxing boots were actually a pair of the original Adidas Box Hog’s which I still have to this day! (A good memento for me).
Since then, I have discovered a few more Adidas boots and most importantly, they are actually a very decent quality for how much they cost compared to other big brands, such as Nike.
See below for my top 7 best Adidas boxing shoes. (2 new additions!)
1. Adidas Box Hog 2 Boxing Boots
The Hog 2 is a good starting point for anyone looking to begin their boxing training journey and is quite a traditional boxing boot in the sense of how it is shaped (high top). The boot comes in black with the famous Adidas brand stripes and you can generally choose between a tan or white rubber sole. A lot better than the original Hog boot, due to more grip on the sole.
Here are some more features the boot carries.
- An open mesh for breath ability and ventilation
- Synthetic suede and mesh
- Gum rubber sole for grip
- Lace-Up
- High top for ankle support and protection

3. Adidas Box Hog 3 Shoes (NEW)
Stay light on your feet until the final bell sounds. These boxing shoes leave an impression with an eye-catching breathable mesh upper that hugs the foot for bout-winning support. Extra stability is provided by the mid-cut design and inner reinforcements. A thin EVA midsole gives you direct contact with the canvas.
This next gen Adidas boxing shoe also come in four standard colours; Black, White, Blue and Red. More features below:
- Lace closure
- Gum rubber outsole
- Knit mesh upper with synthetic suede overlays

4. Adidas Unisex Aq3325 Wrestling Shoes
Now I know not everyone likes to have high top boots when boxing, and Adidas have come up with very good alternative in their wrestling shoes which are just as good for boxing.
The design of the Aq3325 boot is very similar to The Hog 2 (above), but is made up with more synthetic leather around the toe of the foot. The boot has velco/synthetic strap which will help keep your foot secure. There isn’t as much mesh for breath ability around toes, but I wouldn’t be too concerned about this. More features below:
- Upper Mesh for breath ability and ventilation around the ankle
- Gum rubber sole for grip
- Low top style
- Lace-up
- Inner material: mesh for further breath ability.

5. Adidas Hog Plus Boxing Shoes
The Hog Plus is boot I really like! Mainly due to my fighting style of being light on my feet, which this boot can help with in moving around ring with ease. Once you have the Hog Plus on, you do feel they are incredibly light which is bonus if you prefer this.
The boot has a high top style which provides you that important ankle support, however due to it having more outer mesh material it’s not as sturdy as other boots out there. The boot is very similar to the Hog 2 but comes in a range of more styles including white/gold, red/blue, black/gold and orange. Key features include:
- An open mesh
- Lighter synthetic suede and mesh
- Gum rubber sole
- Slight upgrade to the Box Hog 2
- High top for ankle support and protection

6. Adidas KO Legends 16.2
The KO legends is a completely different style to all the above, specifically in how the boot design has been made. This boots outer material is more or less all synthetic which makes it very lightweight along with mesh material for the lace up. This helps give the KO legends a glove like fit for your foot.
The boots come in a few styles including white/orange, traditional Adidas black/white and navy blue/white. The sole grip is also made specifically to help with pivoting – which definitely comes in handy while your boxing. Features below:
- Outer lightweight synthetic material
- Special sole grip to enhance your pivoting
- Lace up with mesh material for breathablilty
- Glove like fit

7. Adidas Pretero III Boxing Shoes
Pretero III is not my cup of tea style wise which generally comes in white/red, white/blue, black and neon blue. The boot is more or less made up of a mesh material for maximum breath ability, which also helps the boot become lightweight.
It has been designed to have a reinforced ankle support which give you a more stable feel. The grip has a unique sole grip which has the suede material running underneath it. If you are looking for stability and breath ability this it the boot for you.
- Upper and lower mesh material for maximum breath ability
- Lightweight
- Lace-up
- Reinforced ankle support design

Conclusion
If I had to choose personally for one of the above, I would definitely consider the Adidas Box Hog 3 or KO Legends – mainly due to their cool styles and light weight which is a big bonus when moving around the ring or training. (With the new additions, I’d love to try speedex 18!)
I hope you enjoyed this review of my top 7 Adidas boxing shoes and hopefully this helped you decide an option to go with.

Thanks Jamie for this review of these 5 boxing boots. I am not yet a boxer but have been very curious about boxing for fitness for some years. One of the things that holds me back from taking my first step is having the right gear. This review is very helpful for this reason. While I think the best choice for me starting out is probably your recommendation for novices of the Hog 2 but I do like the styling of the Pretero III but am curious to find the neon blue styling so I’ll check that out.
Thanks for sharing was very helpful!
Hi Fleur, thanks for you comment!
I’m glad this review has helped you out and hopefully it has made you reach a decision. In terms of the Pretero III, there is Blue version which you can find here. Hope this helps you!
Thanks

Thanks for this concise review on this Adidas boxing boots. It’s very important to wear a boot that gives you good balance. And also, it’s important to wear a boot that’s light to enable you move freely in the ring. I like all the Adidas boots you listed here but the Adidas K.O legend 16.2 would be my pick simply for its style. I loved this article. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Hi Louis,
I do really feel the Adidas boxing boots are some of the best of the market right now, and they really help with your confidence and training in the gym. I really like that KO Legends too, a very cool looking boot.
Thanks again for the kind words man, it’s much appreciated.

These boxing boots are so fine and strong. Even by me looking at these it is a no brainer to know the quality of these boxing boots. I think these boxing boots are multi purpose boots and shouldn’t be limited to only boxing boots alone. I think some of them can even be used for some other sports.
Hi Kenechi, thanks for the comment. Your right adidas boxing boots really are a quality option and definitely some of the best boots on the market. I think some of them could be used other sports, but would recommend mainly for boxing or mma. Hope this blog list helped you.
Thanks
J
