The Hayabusa T3 Boxing Gloves, are truly one of the best boxing gloves out there right now and are perfect gloves if you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced boxer or mixed martial artist looking for a quality boxing glove. You will definitely get a lot of the use out of this glove. Read on below to find out what makes these gloves so special.
The Hayabusa Brand
To start off, Hayabusa are a Canadian fightwear company who provides fighting sports gear for boxing and MMA. Hayabusa provides gloves, headgear, foot grips, apparel and other accessories. Hayabusa set themselves apart in my opinion by crafting quality and innovative products compared to a lot of other fight sport companies that make lower quality cheaper gear.
Did you know?
Hayabusa is the Japanese word for the Peregrine Falcon. Even though it is small, it is the deadliest, fastest and most agile bird of prey in the world. This has remained the inspiration behind the company that has build it’s products to be superior quality and peak performance. (You will see the Falcon in their logo)
The Glove Design
Now in terms of the Hayabusa T3 gloves, it is in their third generation of the Tokushu range which has been one of their most popular ranges of Hayabusa fight gear over the years.
The T3s are renowned for their incredible wrist support and hand protection which has a dual strap wrist strapping that helps support proper, powerful punches and creates hand and wrist stabilization for the best protection and injury prevention. (See below)
The main body of the T3 gloves have been created with separate ‘splint’ panels which you will see on top and back of the gloves. These have the unique benefit of aligning your hand and wrist for when punching and minimizes any awkward bends when striking on the bag, mitts or sparring.
They have also added a unique feature on the thumb of the glove which is meant to be used for wiping away the sweat from your brow/forehead. So instead of you wiping the sweat off onto your t-shirt, the glove helps to solve this problem. Personally I’m not the biggest fan of this as it means you need to make sure you are cleaning after each use of the gloves or they may start to smell over time. (Check out my article on how to clean boxing gloves here.)
The gloves design has also focused on bringing you comfort while you train which includes a natural thumb position (many gloves don’t consider thumb comfort) and a secure fit in the boxing glove. It was developed over several years of testing and feedback from professional fighters, trainers, and boxers around the world.
T3s were built to last using the best materials. Tested and backed by a decade of research, they are the perfect choice for all levels of training. The glove is clearly not made from real leather, but Hayabusa have used an engineered synthetic version so the gloves will be durable and last you a long time.
Hayabusa have also included the gloves with a (CRUSH ZONE™) Foam Composition within the knuckle area which has been made to help absorb and dissipate the impact of your punches helping to give the best protection to your hand and knuckles.
Like with all gloves the more you use them the more likely they will start to smell if you don’t look after them. To combat this they have used natural silver inside the gloves that helps combat the odor to keep the gloves smelling better, for longer.
Now in terms of how the gloves look, they have created a whole range color designs for this boxing glove. In most cases they use two primary colors which dominate the glove.
Quite a cool feature on this glove is that the stand out primary color, will be used in the hand area of the glove and in the stitching, which really shows the care they have given to its look.
The gloves come in quite few color combinations, so you will be definitely be spoiled for choice when you are deciding which glove to pick. Here are some example below:
In 2019 the Hayabusa Boxing gloves were Awarded “Best Boxing Gloves” by Men’s Health Magazine, it’s no wonder when you consider the craftsmanship that has gone into creating such a well-designed and cool looking boxing glove.
- Splints support and align your wrist
- Multi-layer foam knuckle protection
- A perfect, lace-like fit every time without the hassle
- High-grade lining
- Wipe-away Thumb
- Engineered leather
Pros & Cons
- Highly durable materials and design construction
- Unreal hand and wrist support for maximum protection
- Great looking with plenty of color options
- Very comfortable to wear and use.
- Can take a while to put on due to strapping
- Will start to smell if you don’t clean them regularly
- These gloves are expensive, so may be out of some people’s budgets
The Hayabusa T3 gloves are without a doubt one of the best gloves you can can get on the market. I have to admit they are on the more expensive side so I would probably recommend for someone who is at an intermediate or advanced level of boxing or mma.
Yes, you may have to spend that bit more, but just remember you will be getting one of the most durable gloves out there that will definitely last you long a time.
If you have big enough budget, you need to get these gloves!
